Un TROPHÉE 2023 très disputé !

La première course n’a pu être disputée faute de vent mais les deux étapes suivantes ont montré sur l’eau une belle bataille navale.

Après un accueil chaleureux de Jean ORSUCCI maire de Bonifacio puis celui de Tony ADRAGNA de la Marina Vento Di Maestrale à Trapani, Gordon VASSALO et Grand Harbour Marina à Malte reçoit la flotte à Malte.

Si pour la conquête du titre de Jedi 2023, FLORA de Philippe DESCORPS n’a laissé aucune chance à ses concurrents bien que talonné de près par Yvon et Karine FAUCONNIER sur ALBATROS de Jean de LOISY qui s’emparent de la 2èmeplace au nez d’ECBATANE d’Alain MONNIER JEDI 2018.

Pour la conquête du Sabre d’honneur de l’Amiral Satan la course est restée haletante jusque dans les dernières minutes de course ou LYS de Philippe MONNET & Patrick BOCCARD revient sur EUGENIA V, le passe et s’offre les honneurs de la ligne. Mais la victoire en temps corrigé sur cette 2ème étape donne la victoire à EUGENIA V et son amiral Satan en titre Baptiste GARNIER.

EUGENIA V remporte le 23ème Trophée Bailli de Suffren et et Baptiste GARNIER s’empare à nouveau du Sabre d’Honneur de l’Amiral SATAN !

 On notera la belle 3ème place d’HERMITAGE d’Olivier LAMIT qui remis à l’eau il y a 3 semaines d’un grand refit a fait trembler les 2 premiers en remportant la première étape.

Les 14 bateaux sont à bon port à Grand Harbour Marina à Malte, les festivités d’arriver peuvent commencer.

Agnès VON DER MÜHLL ambassadrice de France à Malte a accueillie les concurrents mercredi 5 juillet dans les jardins de la résidence de France, pour montrer son attachement à notre course entre la France et Malte.

A cette occasion nous avons reparlé du projet du Marenostrum racing Club de faire une copie de la Statue de Pierre-André de Suffren qui siège sur le port de Saint-Tropez, pour l’offrir à Malte et l’installer à l’entrée de Birgu-Vittoriosa pour le 25ème Bailli, siège historique de l’Auberge de France ou séjournait Pierre-André de Suffren lors de ses séjours de chevalier à Malte.

Cette aventure sera financée par souscription privée.

L’idée qui a séduit Agnès Von der MÜHLL est conjointement portée par Sylvie SIRI maire de Saint-Tropez.

Le 6 juillet au « Sheer Bastion » de Sengléa, Yachting Malta a reçue la flotte en grande tenue pour la remise des Trophées. 

Le Trophée Bailli de Suffren 2023 qui aura été marqué par les Photos et Portraits de Serge ANTON (www.sergeanton.be) se finit et déjà nous projetons celui de 2024 sur un parcours inédit.

A hotly contested TROPHY 2023!

The first race could not be sailed due to lack of wind, but the next two legs saw a great naval battle on the water.

After warm welcome of Jean-Charles ORSUCCI mayor of Bonifacio, Tony ADRAGNA in Marina Vento di Maestrale, Gordon VASSALO at Grand Harbour Marina receive our fleet for Malta’s ending.

For the Jedi 2023 title, Philippe DECORPS's FLORA gave her rivals no chance, although she was closely followed by Yvon and Karine FAUCONNIER on Jean de LOISY's ALBATROS, who took 2nd place ahead of JEDI 2018 Alain MONNIER's ECBATANE.

The race for the Admiral Satan Honorary Saber remained breathtaking until the final minutes, when LYS of Philippe MONNET & Patrick BOCCARD came back on EUGENIA V, passed her and took the line honors. But victory on corrected time on this 2nd stage went to EUGENIA V and its admiral Satan in title Baptiste GARNIER.

EUGENIA V won the 23rd Trophée Bailli de Suffren and once again Baptiste GARNIER took the Admiral Satan Honorary Saber! 

Olivier LAMIT's HERMITAGE, which was relaunched 3 weeks ago after a major refit, came a fine 3rd after shaking the top two boats by winning the first leg.

The 14 boats are safely in port at Grand Harbour Marina in Malta, and the arrival festivities can begin.

Agnès VON DER MÜHLL, the French ambassador to Malta, welcomed the competitors on Wednesday 5 July in the gardens of the French residence, to show her support for our race between France and Malta.

On this occasion, we will be talking about the Marenostrum Racing Club's project to make a copy of the Statue of Pierre-André de Suffren, which stands in the port of Saint-Tropez, as a gift to Malta and to install it at the entrance to Birgu-Vittoriosa for the 25th Bailiff, the historic site of the Auberge de France, where Pierre-André de Suffren stayed when he was a knight in Malta.

This venture will be financed by private subscription.

The idea, which won over Agnès Von der MÜHLL, has also been taken up by Sylvie SIRI, Mayor of Saint-Tropez.

On July 6 at the Sengléa’s “Sheer Bastion”, Yachting Malta welcome the fleet in full regalia for the presentation of the Trophies.

The Trophée Bailli de Suffren 2023, which will have been marked by the Photos and Portraits of Serge ANTON (www.sergeanton.be ), is coming to an end and we are already looking ahead to the 2024 event, which will feature a new route.
